New MOU Between Great Lakes Fishery Commission and Trent University to Support Collaboration Among Indigenous and Western Knowledge Systems
Trent University’s Indigenous Environmental Institute and the Great Lakes Fishery Commission have signed an MOU to strengthen collaboration between Indigenous and Western knowledge systems in Great Lakes research. The partnership will develop scholarships, fellowships, and programs to support Indigenous-led research, build capacity, and identify shared priorities on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border. Initiatives include a new Community Partnership Funding Program to support co-produced projects and expanded opportunities for Indigenous students to engage in research connected to their lands and waters.
